This house was initially 130sqm and has been extended to 285sqm in 10 months of building work. The goal has been to work on light, living/social space and accomodate great storage and 6 bedrooms for a family of 6 plus an au pair.
Glazing has been the biggest spend, all the house has been done on a very challenging budget and required lots of negociation,
The basement was the main focus, in order to integrate it to the rest of the house. The decision has been made to reduce the size of the kitchen to allow the stairs to have a rooflight above and bring a huge amount of natural light,
As the main basement room is all open space (65sqm), the sunken area allows to make a natual definitions of areas.
All the furniture was designed bespoke and made in India by Emilie's brother.
This house is Emilie's and was featured in the August issue of Living etc. magazine.
